On Friday evening in Spain, the new 2019-20 season of "La Liga" championships began. Their start was marked by a very unexpected result. "Barcelona" players, without Lionel Messi, visited Bilbao "Athletic" at home. Aritz Aduriz, 38 years old, who spent a few moments on the field after being substituted, stunned the Spanish champions with a fantastic strike – they lost by a score of 0:1. The hosts started very actively – from the first minutes, "Barcelona" faced difficulties in defense and could not think about easy ball control for at least the first 15 minutes. A bit later, "Barcelona" settled in the opponent's half, but did not create many significant opportunities. In the 35th minute, Luis Suarez had the first real chance to score, but his shot hit the crossbar. Immediately after that episode, L. Suarez grabbed his leg and was substituted after a few minutes – Rafinha entered the field instead of him, and towards the end of the half forced the opponents' goalkeeper to work. In the second half, "Barcelona" looked much more threatening, but the "Athletic" defense played almost flawlessly. At the end of the match, "Barcelona" pressed the hosts, but all efforts were in vain when in the 89th minute, A. Aduriz, who spent barely a minute on the field, showed his class. After a superb pass from the side, he sent the ball into Ter Stegen's goal with an acrobatic header, sensationally expanding the victory for the Basque team. This was the first defeat for "Barcelona" in the start of the "La Liga" championships since 2008. Result: "Athletic" 1 - 0 "Barcelona" 89' [1 - 0] A. Aduriz League Table: Starting line-ups: "Barcelona": Ter Stegen; Semedo, Piqué, Lenglet, Jordi Alba; Sergi Roberto, de Jong, Aleñá; Dembélé, Suárez, Griezmann. "Athletic": Unai Simón; Capa, Yeray, Núñez, Berchiche; Unai López, Dani García; De Marcos, Raúl García, Muniain; Williams.
The amazing "Athletic" veteran's goal determined "Barcelona's" failure in the "La Liga" start.
