The Argentine National Team Left Without a Coach

On Tuesday, Alejandro Sabella announced that he is resigning from his position as the coach of the Argentina national team. The Argentine led the team to the final of the World Cup after a 24-year hiatus.

The Argentine press reported that the 59-year-old coach informed the country's federation that he will no longer continue his work with the national team.

Two weeks ago, A. Sabella stated that he wanted to take a break: "I need to refill the energy tank, which sometimes runs out. I have to think about whether I am 100% ready."

Sabella coached the Argentina national team since August 2011.

In the World Cup final, Argentina lost to Germany 0-1 after extra time.

The Argentina national team has already started preparing for the 2015 South American Cup.

The main candidates to replace A. Sabella are Jose Pekerman and Gerardo Martino.
