The beating of a journalist struck the coach of the Mexican national team

The Mexican national team triumphed in the CONCACAF Gold Cup just a few days ago, in the championship of Central and North America and the Caribbean countries, but head coach Miguel Herrera did not have time to celebrate this victory for long, as reported by bbc.com.

The coach was fired and lost his job due to allegations of assaulting a journalist. According to him, M. Herrera attacked him at the airport, hitting him in the neck and making threats.

Decio de Maria, who will soon become the head of the Mexican Football Federation, stated that such actions clash with all values.

"Our values and principles are above all results. In this profession, matches never end - we are public figures representing the institution. This must be understood," categorically stated D. de Maria.

The 47-year-old M. Herrera had been in charge of the Mexican national team since 2013.
