The Belgian national team canceled training sessions, friendly matches are in doubt.

The Belgian national men's football team canceled the training sessions scheduled for Tuesday, expressing their respect for the victims of the explosions in Brussels.

The Belgian team was supposed to play a friendly match against Portugal in Brussels next week, but now it is unclear if this match will take place.

Tuesday started with chaos in Brussels. Two explosions rocked Zaventem airport, while another explosion shook a metro station in the city center. Dozens of casualties are reported, but the exact number is still unknown.

Belgium's RTBF channel quotes hospital sources saying that at least 11 people died in the airport explosion, with another 35 injured. It has been confirmed that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.

The metro explosions were also devastating. Belgium's VRT television channel reports that 15 people died in the "Maelbeek" metro station. This metro station is just 500 meters away from the headquarters of EU institutions. It is reported that the bomb was hidden in a train.
