On Monday, the end of the 2012 Lithuanian Football Federation season was solemnly celebrated in Vilnius, the champions and winners of the country's football championships were awarded, the best footballers, coaches, and referees were honored.
The football community gathered at Vilnius City Hall was greeted by LFF President Julius Kvedaras. He thanked everyone who worked for the good of football this year.
One of the biggest closing season intrigues was the announcement of the 2012 best footballers and coaches election results. For the second year in a row, Lithuania's national team goalkeeper Žydrūnas Karčemarskas was chosen as the best Lithuanian footballer, and this year's best player in the "General Financing A Lyga" was Artūras Rimkevičius, who broke the goal-scoring record.

The awards for the best young player and best coach went to representatives of Panevėžio "Ekranas" - goalkeeper Emilijus Zubas and coach Valdas Urbonas.
For the second year in a row, the best assistant referee in Lithuania was Vytautas Šimkus from Kaunas, and the field referee was Nerijus Dunauskas from Vilnius.
For the second consecutive season, the most beautiful goal of the year was given the most votes online by the Klaipėda "Atlantas" striker Evaldas Razulis.
Personal prizes were also awarded to the best female footballers in the country. The absolute best player was chosen as Rasa Imanalijeva from Šiaulių "Gintra-Universitetas".
In the solemn ceremony, all the winners of this year's Lithuanian football championships were recognized. The trophies and medals were awarded to the multiple winners of the Lithuanian women's football A Lyga league, the Šiauliai "Gintra-Universitetas" team, and the winners of the LFF I Lyga league, the Jonava "Lietava" team.
Also honored were the best futsal team (Vilnius "Bekentas"), seniors' teams (Jonava "Klevas" and Kaunas "Kaunas"), and second teams (Marijampolės "Sūduva-2").
At the climax of the event, for the fifth year in a row, the gold medals of the Lithuanian football champions were taken by Panevėžio "Ekranas".
