The candidates have emerged to win the best footballer award.

FIFA has announced a list of 24 players competing to be named the best footballer of 2017.

As usual, the list is dominated by stars of the biggest European clubs, but the standout team is Madrid's "Real". Seven representatives of the UEFA Champions League winners made it to the list of the best.

In the list of finalists, you can find three familiar names from the finals of this tournament. These are goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, forward Paulo Dybala, and defender Leonardo Bonucci, who has already moved to "Milan".

Two footballers from the last trio do not fit well into the overall context, as there are mostly attacking players here. Besides Buffon, the other two goalkeepers are Manuel Neuer from Bayern Munich and Keylor Navas from Real, while the ranks of defenders are supplemented only by Dani Carvajal, Marcelo, and Sergio Ramos.
