The captain of the Greek national team signed a two-year contract with a club from Italy.
After the unexpected success of the Greek football team at this year's European Championship, Zagorakis, recognized as the best player of the tournament, was released from his obligations to the Greek club on Wednesday and became a free agent.
The 32-year-old defensive midfielder, who has previously played for Salonika's "PAOK" and other clubs, was linked with several European clubs. Although the offer from a Spanish club was more lucrative, the Greek decided to play for "Bologna."
Zagorakis will earn €800,000 per year at Bologna club.
