Long-time 'Barcelona' defender Javier Mascherano has decided to choose money over top-level football.
The publication 'La Nacion' reported that the 33-year-old Argentinian will move to Hebei's 'China Fortune' already in January.
The Chinese club will pay 10 million euros for the veteran, and the athlete himself will receive a salary of 9.5 million per season. This is twice the wage Mascherano is currently receiving (4.5 million).
This season in 'La Liga' championships Mascherano did not stand out in 6 played matches with neither goals nor assists.
In the past, he has also played for clubs such as 'Liverpool' or 'West Ham United'.
