"Celtic", who had won 11 games in a row, this time faced an away match in the capital against "Hibernian". The hosts started the meeting more successfully, and Ivan Sproule led his team forward with a powerful strike. The Edinburgh club later maintained the initiative and increased the lead in the middle of the second half when Evander Sno deceived goalkeeper Artur Boruc.
However, the defending champions "Celtic" demonstrated their fighting spirit and softened the guests' deficit after seven minutes with E. Sno, and in the 74th minute, Aiden McGeady equalized with a precise shot. At the end of the match, both teams had the opportunity to snatch a victory, but the result remained unchanged and "Celtic" had to settle for a draw.
Meanwhile, "Rangers", who won 3-0 at home against "Kilmarnock", advanced to second place by overtaking "Aberdeen" in terms of goal difference and reduced the gap with "Celtic" to 13 points. The scorers for the winners were Charlie Adam, Kris Boyd, and Dado Prso.
In the duel of the teams at the bottom of the tournament table, "Dundee Utd" won by defeating "St. Mirren" with Noel Hunt's lone goal in the middle of the second half. This allowed "Dundee Utd" to climb from 11th to 9th place, while the league newcomer "St. Mirren" dropped to 10th position.
