The Champions League final could take place at the end of August

UEFA and the European Football League continue to search for options on how to finish the season suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The next UEFA meeting is scheduled for April 23, but outlines are already emerging on how the season can be extended.

BBC reports that UEFA has already set dates for the Champions League and Europa League finals. According to the current plan, the Champions League final could be held on August 29, and the Europa League final on August 26.

However, it is still not clear in what format the remaining knockout matches will be played. It is stated that both the usual scenario is being considered, where all pairs play two matches until the final, but the possibility that everything could be decided in a single match is not ruled out.

If the second option is chosen, then, as BBC reports, the Champions League season would be extended until all national championships are completed.
