Many well-known footballers have their bodies adorned with tattoos, but such "fashion" has caught the attention of the Chinese. It is reported that the country's governing institutions have decided to ban athletes from showing off their decorated bodies. The new rule has already affected Guangzhou defender Zhang Linpeng, who has been instructed to cover up his tattoos while playing for both his club and the national team. "This will demonstrate the correct attitude of Chinese players - they will set a good example for society. National team and U-23 representatives are strictly prohibited from getting new tattoos," the statement reads, adding that disobedient footballers will face penalties. The last time Chinese players participated in the World Cup was in 2002.
