Milovan Rajevac has stepped down from his position as head coach of the Ghana national team.

The Serbian specialist, whose two-year contract is soon coming to an end, informed the country's football federation officials that he is no longer interested in this job.

The 56-year-old Rajevac led the Ghanaian team to the final of the African Cup of Nations and the quarterfinals of the World Cup. Both fans, federation officials, and the media wanted him to stay in his position.

Among the candidates to take over the national team's reins are mentioned the Frenchman Marcel Desailly, who has roots in this country, and another Serbian, Ratomir Dujković, who has previously coached the national team.
