The International Football Association Board (IFAB) has announced that the 2019-20 season finale will go down in football history. It is reported that with the renewal of the championships, teams will have the opportunity to make not just the usual three substitutions, but five. However, players can only be replaced three times - meaning that during two substitutions, two players will have to be replaced at once if all five substitutions are to be used. Not all leagues may agree with this rule change, so IFAB has left the decision to themselves. "La Liga" will certainly benefit from the innovations, as they have already reached an agreement with the Spanish Football Federation. Additionally, the number of substitute players will be increased from 7 to 12. Now, teams will be able to include not 18, but 23 players on the roster. In Spain, where huge heat waves are usually recorded in the summer, it is also allowed to have "water breaks" in the middle of the first and second halves.
