On Monday, it was announced that the upcoming "Copa America" tournament in Argentina will not take place, as the coronavirus continues to spread in the country. The right to host the tournament earlier due to political unrest in the country was also lost by Colombia. Organizers had to quickly make a decision about the fate of "Copa America" or cancel the tournament altogether. However, the leadership here was taken by Brazil, which agreed to host the tournament, even though there were less than two weeks left until its start. However, this decision was met with mixed reactions in Brazil itself. Some politicians in high positions criticized the organization of "Copa America" in Brazil, as the country still struggles with COVID-19.
