The current "Barcos" president faces a two-year prison sentence, the former - almost seven.

Spanish lawyers insist that "Barcelona" president Jose Maria Bartomeu should be sentenced to more than two years in prison for tax fraud in the acquisition of Neymar.

Charges and requests for imprisonment were announced last month against Bartomeu and former club leader Sandro Rosell.

Bartomeu claims he is innocent and argues that Rosell is fully responsible for the deal that brought Neymar from "Santos" in 2013.

However, lawyers representing the Spanish tax authorities want Bartomeu to serve two years and three months in prison, while Rosell - six years and nine months.

"Barcelona" club is also accused of three other financial crimes committed from 2011 to 2014, and is required to pay a compensation of 11.4 million euros.

It is claimed that "Barca" avoided paying as much as 13 million euros for Neymar's transfer, as officially it was valued at 57 million, but unofficially the total exceeded 100 million.

If found guilty, Rosell will have to pay 25.1 million, Bartomeu 3.8 million, and "Barcelona" 22.2 million euros in fines.
