During the UEFA European Championship, the battles of the round of 16 continue. On Sunday, the first teams to advance to the quarterfinals were the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. It was already known in advance that the winner of the match would meet the Danish team in the next stage. The match in Budapest at the "Puskas" arena ended unexpectedly - the Czech national team achieved a 2-0 victory. The first half began with a chance created by the Dutch, but later the Czechs wasted their opportunities. In the 22nd minute, T. Souček missed a chance, while P. Schick and A. Barak wasted their chances in the 28th and 38th minutes. In the 40th minute, Dutch player D. Dumfries tried to create a sharper attack, but the ball was caught by T. Vaclik. In the 52nd minute, D. Malen broke through the defense, but the Czechs managed to defend once again. Soon after, the Dutch team was shaken by a foul from defender Matthias de Ligt, resulting in a penalty - the Dutchman used his hand to stop a dangerous attack from the opponents and received a red card. The Czech team managed to take advantage of the opportunity - in the 68th minute, T. Holeš headed the ball into the net after a set-piece, forcing the Dutch to chase the game (0-1). In the 80th minute, P. Schick scored his fourth goal in the European Championship, and the Czechs triumphed with a 2-0 victory.
