Former London "Tottenham" and "Chelsea" coach Andre Villas-Boas' debut in the Dakar rally ended in the fourth speed stage.
The 40-year-old Portuguese left China last November and temporarily suspended his coaching career. As it later turned out, the reason for all this was the strategist's dream of testing himself in the world's toughest races.
However, A. Villas-Boas' first Dakar did not go well - until the fourth stage, the Portuguese, who was 2 hours and 18 minutes behind the race leader, suffered a back injury during an accident and had to be taken to the hospital.
The strategist-racer avoided serious injuries, but was taken to the hospital for a general check-up, which also meant the end of the Dakar rally.
