Despite demonstrating excellent athletic form at the end of the season, Keylor Navas will lose the role of the main goalkeeper at Real Madrid next season.
Marca reports that David De Gea and Real Madrid will not wait all summer and this week, an announcement could be made about the return of the Spanish national team goalkeeper to the country's capital.
26-year-old D. De Gea was supposed to join the Real team in 2015, but the transfer did not go through due to mishandled documentation. Last summer, the Whites did not even attempt to acquire the Spaniard, as Keylor Navas impressively played in the 2015-16 season.
As reported by the mentioned source, the player himself has already agreed on all contract details with Real, but the deal is still being delayed by the desired amount by Manchester United for the goalkeeper.
Jose Mourinho asked for 75 million euros for one of the best goalkeepers on the planet, but Real wants to lower this price. If De Gea's transfer fee remains the same, he will become the most expensive goalkeeper of all time.
It is currently unclear whether De Gea's arrival will mean Navas's departure. It is possible that the Costa Rican will remain in the team and fight for a place in the starting lineup next season. This would mean the departure of another goalkeeper - Kiko Casilla.
