In the Spanish "Primera" league, four matches of the 22nd round were played on Saturday.
The first match took place at the "Vicente Calderon" stadium, where two Madrid teams - "Atletico" and "Real" - faced each other. Diego Simeone's team crushed the visiting "white" team in front of their fans and celebrated a victory with a score of 4-0.
Right from the start of the match, "Atletico" players started to dominate. The first goal came in the 14th minute, when Tiago scored from approximately 18 meters after a great pass from Mario Mandžukič.
Just four minutes later, the Spanish national team goalkeeper had to pick the ball from his net again. Saul Niguezas scored an impressive goal with a "scissors" kick after a smooth dribble.
Throughout the remainder of the first half, Carlo Ancelotti's team failed to impose their game. The next 45 minutes were also catastrophic for the "Real" club.
In the 67th minute, Antoine Griezmann started tormenting the opponents, scoring after an insecure play by his compatriot Raphael Varane. The final blow came in the 89th minute when Mario Mandžukič sent the UEFA Champions League winners into complete disgrace.
After the devastating defeat, the "Real" club still remains the sole leader of the league table, but tomorrow "Barcelona" will have the opportunity to reduce the gap to just one point.
In other matches, "Villarreal" defeated "Granada" 2-0 at home, while Valencia's "Levante" crushed "Malaga" 4-1 at home.
