The detail that made Denmark higher than Slovenia in group stage © ZUMAPRESS.com

In the European Championship Group C, both Denmark and Slovenia collected the same number of points, scored and conceded the same amount of goals, played a draw against each other, and their players received the same amount of yellow cards. However, one thing set these teams apart.

UEFA officially announced that Denmark is ranked higher. The reason for this is the yellow card received by the assistant coach of the Slovenian national team, Milivoje Novakovič.

Denmark ultimately took second place, while Slovenia took third. However, due to the favorable format of the European Championship, both teams advanced to the knockout stage.

Denmark will face Germany in the quarterfinals. Slovenia's opponent will be determined later.
