Experienced, high-level 24-year-old footballer from Latvia Aleksandras Solovjovas has joined the "Tauras" team.

The defender started his career in the youth teams of Riga's "Skonto". In 2007, he was included in the main lineup of "Skonto", but did not play a single match for this team as he was loaned to the "Olimps" club, where, by the way, the young footballer did very well: 24 matches - 3 goals.

In 2008, A. Solovjovas signed a contract with Ventspils "Ventspils" club, played 15 matches here and scored three goals.

In 2009-2010, with the "Ventspils" team, the Latvian played in the group stage of the European League. In an away match against Berlin's "Hertha", a team from the German Bundesliga, the Latvian club kept a "clean sheet", and A. Solovjovas was evaluated as one of the best players on the field.

In 2010, the young and promising defender was noticed by the English "Blackpool" club, but the "Ventspils" and "Blackpool" clubs could not agree on the transfer fee, and A. Solovjovas missed the opportunity to play in the English Premier League.

In August of the same year, A. Solovjovas joined the team of "Atromitos Yeroskipou" in Cyprus, but he constantly struggled with injuries here and eventually the contract was terminated. In 2011, the footballer tried his luck at the "Nantwich Town" club in the English Northern Premier League, but he did not stay there and eventually... ended up at "Tauras". A. Solovjovas has also represented Latvia's U-17, U-19, and U-21 national teams.
