The 36-year-old veteran rejected an offer from a French team last month and extended his contract with Los Angeles Galaxy, but PSG executives intend to negotiate with him in the future.
The sports director Leonardo said: "Everyone in Paris dreamed about David, but family circumstances led to a different decision. We did everything we could, but the doors are still open for him."
