The drawn match between Germany and Chile captured (VIDEO)

On the evening, the second round of matches of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup Group B took place at the Kazan Arena.

Fans gathered at the arena witnessed a great battle from the first minutes, as neither the German nor the Chilean national teams were willing to leave the field after experiencing their first defeat.

The match in the first half was evenly balanced, but for the most part, the strongest South American team lead, which was led by Alexis Sanchez. He took advantage of a mistake by his teammate from Arsenal, Shkodran Mustafi, and after a great combination with Arturo Vidal, scored with his left foot.

This goal was special for three reasons. First of all, Sanchez became the all-time top scorer of his country. Also, it was the 400th goal in the Confederations Cup and the earliest goal that Germany has ever conceded in the tournament.

Chileans indeed outperformed their opponents statistically even with an advantage, but the Germans, after giving it their all, equalized the score before halftime. It was achieved by Lars Stindl with an assist from Jonas Hector.

The second half looked like it would be even more intriguing, but it was somewhat disappointing as both teams reduced their attacking efforts.

Both German and Chilean players had several dangerous moments, but ultimately, all threats disappeared due to inaccurate passes or stopping at the last moment.

Therefore, no more goals were scored after the break - the match ended in a 1-1 draw. This means that in Group B, the South American team with a better goal difference continues to lead, while Australia and Cameroon, who have collected one point each, occupy third and fourth positions respectively.
