Unsuccessful performance at the World Cup prompted changes in the Egyptian national team.
The entire coaching staff, who lost all three matches in Group A, was forced to leave by coach Hector Cuper.
After a meeting, the Egyptian Football Federation decided to abandon intentions and not offer a new contract to the 62-year-old Argentine.
"We had a meeting when we returned home and collectively decided to thank Cuper and his assistants for their work. We appreciate the results achieved, as we reached the World Cup after a 28-year break," the federation announced in a press release.
