Over the weekend, the matches of the eighth round of the Russian Premier League took place. The central match of the round was held at the "Luzhniki" stadium in Moscow, where the championship leaders met.

Moscow 3:1 St. Petersburg

Goals:

33' Kerzhakov [0:1]

55' Budilin (penalty) [1:1]

70' Panov [2:1]

79' Panov [3:1]

Until halftime, the game was quite even, and it was quite interesting - both teams played with high intensity and organized several good attacks. The home team started the game more actively and had a few moments, but the guests managed to score first. Alexander Kerzhakov made a run from the center of the field, at the end of which he hesitated to make a pass and weakly struck towards the opponent's goal. The opponents' goalkeeper Borodin makes a big mistake - dives to the wrong side, opposite to the shot. The ball rolls into the goal - 0:1. After the break, the guests significantly reduced their intensity. "Torpedo" did not take long to take advantage. In the 55th minute, Kormilicev passes the ball to Budilin attacking the penalty area. There he is fouled by Zenit defender Kiric. Budilin himself converts the penalty from 11 meters - 1:1. In the 70th minute of the match, Zyrianov passes the ball to "Torpedo" striker Panov, who, receiving the ball at the goalkeeper's box line, shoots strongly into the far corner to put his team ahead - 2:1. The same Panov secures the home team's victory in the 79th minute, when he, after Budilin's pass, goes one-on-one with the guests' goalkeeper. The ball ends up in the Zenit goal after an exemplary shot over the goalkeeper from the penalty spot.

After these matches, "Torpedo" became the sole leader of the championship.

Volgograd 2:2 Moscow

Goals:

3' Sychov [0:1]

15' Yesipov [1:1]

29' Yesipov [2:1]

90+6' Sychov [2:2]

An unusual event happened in Volgograd. The main goalkeeper of the Russian national team, Sergey Ovchinnikov, conceded two goals in a quarter of an hour after two penalty shots to the same corner by the same player. The author of this achievement is Valery Yesipov. Initially, he scored against Loko's goal from 35 meters, and later passed the ball over the "wall". However, this happened after the Volgograd team had already conceded a goal. Already in the third minute of the match, the Loskov-Sychov connection worked. Loko's captain "threw" the ball to Sychov from the depth of the field, who, bypassing Kalashnikov, sent the ball into the Rotor goal. Rotor did not give up and responded with Jesipov's double. Breaking forward, the championship underdog did not stop attacking, pressing the Moscow club players throughout the field. Due to this pressure, the "railwaymen" were completely confused at some point. And after the break, the Lokomotiv coach decided to replace the goalkeeper on the field - Ruslan Nigmatulin appeared. In the second half, Ruslan did not have much work. Lokomotiv tried to redirect the game scenario in their favor throughout the second half. However, they only managed to achieve a result with the referee adding 6(!) minutes to the main time. Sychov scored again after Loskov's pass, 10 seconds before the end of extra time.

Kazan 2:0 Moscow

Goals:

15' Aloisio [1:0]

50' Konovalov [2:0]

Sooner or later, the Kazan club had to win. After all, they were the bronze medalists from last year. The home team took the initiative from the very first minutes of the match. This logically turned into the first goal - Aloisio, in a tough battle with Spartak defenders, broke into the opponent's penalty area and shot near Kovalevski into the far corner - 1:0. The same Aloisio did everything to score Dostalekas in the 40th minute - the Brazilian again broke into the Moscow players' penalty area and passed the ball to the Czech who shot from an ideal position. The visitors also had a few chances, but Kazan's goalkeeper Chizov played perfectly.

After the break, Spartak players started to slack off, but soon they were punished on the counterattack - Bojarincev broke through on the right side and lifted the ball into the opponent's penalty area. Konovalov was the first to reach the ball, and in a beautiful jump, he made such a beautiful and strong header that the opponent's goalkeeper Kovalevski could only watch the ball flying into the goal.

Moscow 1:0 Vladikavkaz

Goal:

59' Kirichenko [1:0]

There weren't many events in the match. In the first half, both teams had one shot on the opponent's goal. The game picked up when in the second half, CSKA's Brazilian Carvalho rose from the bench and organized a winning attack. He led Kirichenko one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and the striker, who had just returned to the Russian national team, proved that Grigory Yartsev remembered him not in vain.

Yaroslavl 0:1 Samara

Goal:

15' Kariaka (penalty) [0:1]

A crucial moment in the match happened in a rather bizarre situation. In the 14th minute of the match, the main referee, Sergey Martynov, twisted his leg and was forced to ask for a replacement. The substitute referee practically immediately awarded a dubious penalty for the hosts. This happened after an episode where Yaroslavl's defender Williams pushed Vinogradov in an aerial duel. Andrei Kariaka left no chance for the goalkeeper from the penalty spot - the shot flew just below the crossbar.

Ramenskoye 2:0 Rostov-on-Don

Goals:

69' Medvedev [1:0]

90' Bazenov [2:0]

Perm 0:1 Moscow

Goal:

53' Bulykin [0:1]
