Michael Ballack's career in the German national team has ended. This decision was made on Thursday after a meeting between the football player and coach Joachim Low.
The statement says that discussions on this issue were ongoing for several months before a final decision was made.
The 34-year-old Ballack last represented his country's national team in March 2010.
In total, he played 98 matches for the national team and scored 42 goals.
