The end of J. M. Bartomeu's rule? Green light lit for "Barcelona" referendum © JumpStory

„Barcelona“ fans have decided to expedite the removal of the club's president Josep Maria Bartomeu from office. Members of the Catalan club had already collected over 20,000 signatures for a referendum in the middle of September, which will be used to express distrust in the 57-year-old official who has been leading the club. As the vote verification process began, it became clear that the demands were already met by at least 16,521 signatures (10 percent of active club members), which is enough to bring up the question of no confidence in J. M. Bartomeu. The remaining votes will be verified until October 10, and it is already clear that "Barcelona" will have to announce the date of the controversial vote within a 10-20 day period. A vote of no confidence in J. M. Bartomeu is likely to be held in the middle of November, and in order to remove the leader from office, 66.6 percent of participating members in the vote will have to speak out against him.
