Legendary Johan Cruyff clashed with the management of Amsterdam's "Ajax" club due to disagreements with a former footballer and decided to resign.

Cruyff returned to "Ajax" at the beginning of this year as an advisor on various issues. Many of his proposals did not receive approval from the management, so the conflict was resolved with the latter stepping down from their positions.

The famous Dutch club has not been experiencing the best of times recently - the team last became the country's champion in 2004, and lifted the Champions League trophy in 1995.

Cruyff urged to give more decision-making power to coach Frank de Boer and hire other former famous players, such as Dennis Bergkamp and Wim Jonk.

However, the management will continue to work until a replacement is found. Cruyff himself has no intention of seeking the position of the manager.
