EURO 2020 final and semi-finals took place at the legendary "Wembley" stadium. Some countries have been waiting for decades for such a large-scale football event to happen in their country, but it seems like Great Britain will have to wait a long time for another major tournament in their backyard. "The Times" reported that the 2028 European Football Championship should take place in Great Britain and Ireland. It is almost official, as these two countries (as one union) are the only ones who have submitted a bid to host this football event. It is expected that this news will become official during the course of this week, as reported by "Sky Sports News." The 2020 European Championship group matches and certain knockout matches took place at the "Hampden Park" stadium in Glasgow and the "Wembley" stadium in London. Matches in the 2028 European Championship are also expected to take place in Northern Ireland, Wales, and, of course, Ireland. 🚨 OFFICIAL: Great Britain and Ireland will host EURO 2028. 🇬🇧🇮🇪 UEFA have not received any other host applications.
