On a late Thursday evening, the remaining Europa League matches were played. Only two visiting teams celebrated victories in the G-L groups. Kiev's "Dynamo" and "Trabzonspor" managed to take three points each from their opponents' strongholds. Also, tournament favorites "Sevilla," "Napoli," and Liverpool's "Everton" defeated their opponents. In the only G-L group match that ended in a draw, "Lille" and "Krasnodar" ended up level.
The tournament also began for the clubs represented by two Lithuanian national team players. Lukas Spalvis's "Aalborg" team suffered a 6-0 loss to the Romanian champion Bucharest's "Steaua" with Giedrius Arlauskis guarding their goal.
