On Tuesday evening, the first two second-leg quarter-final matches of the UEFA Champions League took place. Juventus and Barcelona both secured the first two tickets to the semi-finals. In Turin, another sensation occurred - the miracle-working Ajax team from Amsterdam eliminated Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus from the tournament. After conceding a goal, the Dutch managed to secure a victory with a score of 2:1 and will play in the semi-finals for the first time since 1996. The first leg in Amsterdam ended in a 1:1 draw, so the Ajax team couldn't even think about defense in these matches - they needed at least one goal. The match started quite calmly - both teams did not rush each other, so there weren't many chances initially. In the 28th minute, Ajax faced the worst-case scenario - Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored all the goals for Juventus in the knockout stage, headed in accurately after a corner kick, giving Juventus the advantage. However, even after this goal, the situation didn’t change for Ajax - they still needed a goal. They didn’t have to wait long - just a few minutes later, the score became equal when Donny van de Beek unexpectedly received a pass in the penalty area and scored accurately. In the second half, Ajax showed a much more attractive game and dominated in creating chances. In the 67th minute, a crucial goal fell at the Juventus stadium, which did not please the majority of spectators - Matthijs de Ligt widened the victory for his team with a powerful shot after a corner kick, leading them to the dreamed-of semi-final. In the remaining time, Ajax had several good chances to increase their advantage, but they didn’t even need a third goal. The sensational Ajax team will face Tottenham in the semi-final, the winner of the Manchester City pair. In the other match, Barcelona easily dealt with Manchester United in front of their fans. Unfortunately for United, who made tragic mistakes in defense, they left the tournament with a total loss of 0:4. The "Red Devils" aggressively started the match and in the first 10 minutes tested the nerves of the home fans, but after calming down and Lionel Messi passing the ball, the Catalans soon began their show. In the 16th minute, L. Messi put Barcelona ahead after Ashley Young's mistake, and four minutes later increased the lead when David De Gea made a glaring error trying to fend off a shot. The final blow was delivered in the 61st minute with a fantastic shot by Philippe Coutinho. "Man Utd" still had a chance to reduce the gap, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen was not willing to let the ball out of the net. Barcelona will likely face the Liverpool team in the semi-finals, who celebrated a convincing victory against Porto in the first quarter-final match.
