Former Argentina national team striker Hernan Crespo has terminated his contract with an Italian Serie A club.

The 36-year-old veteran has lost his place in the starting lineup, but he does not intend to end his career just yet.

"I didn't want it to happen this way, but I had to take this step for the fans of the team," said Crespo. "It's really sad and not easy to end a 19-year career at the highest level."

This season, the striker played only four matches in the Serie A championship and did not score any goals.

It is rumored that he will try his luck in one of the countries that do not spare aging footballers at the sunset of their careers: "I have offers, but I'm not leaving Parma to have the freedom to choose. There are options in India, China, Qatar, and the USA. Nothing has been agreed yet."

Crespo has played for teams such as Buenos Aires' River Plate, Rome's Lazio, Milan's Inter, London's Chelsea, Milan, and Genoa. He has also represented the Argentina national team 64 times and scored 35 goals.
