The famous Icelandic commentator lost his job all over the world (VIDEO)

After gaining fame for his emotional commentary on the "Euro 2016" matches in Iceland, the man lost his job. However, this does not mean that his viewers and internet users will not hear his lost voice anymore. On Monday, Iceland will play against England in the "Euro 2016" quarterfinals.

Gudmundur Benediktsson, who shouted in a voice that was not his own when the Icelandic national team scored their second goal against Austria (2:1) in the final group stage match on Wednesday, lost his job at an Icelandic football club over the weekend, where he worked as an assistant coach.

G. Benediktsson worked this season at the Reykjavik KR club, which lost 1:2 on Thursday in the Icelandic Championship match against Akranes IA and suffered their third consecutive defeat.

Iceland commentated on the matches against Austria directly from France and flew home after them to be with the team, but it did not help.

After this failure, the club managers dismissed both the coach and the assistant-commentator.

"Apparently, not everyone likes his worldwide popularity," - commented the dismissal by journalist Hoerdur Jonsson of the portal 433.is.
