"Serie A" league fate of the title for the next season could be determined by additional final matches. The league, together with the clubs, made a decision to change the rule that has been in place so far, where if two teams had the same number of points, the title went to the team that had a better head-to-head record. From next season, in such cases, additional final matches would be played, which would determine the fate of the title. Interestingly, in these matches there would be no extra time played, and after the match ends in a draw, the teams would go straight to penalty shootouts from 11 meters. However, the additional matches will be played only when two teams competing for the title have the same number of points, in other cases, the head-to-head results will continue to be considered.
