The FIFA awards ceremony overshadowed by reports of fake votes

Lionel Messi triumphed at the beginning of the week in the FIFA Best Player awards, but now some individuals claim that their votes were manipulated, according to lrytas.lt.

The Egyptian Football Federation publicly addressed FIFA, claiming that their representatives voted differently than indicated in official protocols.

Egyptian national team captain Ahmed Elmohamady claims that he voted for his compatriot Mohamed Salah, but in the end saw in official documents that his vote went to L. Messi. The same is confirmed by the coaches of the Egyptian and Sudanese national teams.

Nicaragua's national team captain Juan Barrera also spoke up.

"I did not give my vote to Messi. I was surprised to see my name next to those who voted for the Argentine," said the footballer.

In each country, the national team coach, captain, and one media representative participate in the voting.
