The final participant of the WC after more than three decades became Peru (VIDEO)

Last night, the final World Cup qualifying match was played between the national teams of Peru and New Zealand, representing different confederations. The first clash between these teams ended in a goalless draw, so everything was decided anew.

Spirited by the full stadium, the Peruvian footballers managed to create more dangerous opportunities throughout the match, and Jefferson Farfan led them ahead with a powerful strike midway through the first half.

The scene on the field was similar after the break. Then, in the 65th minute, Christian Ramos doubled the hosts' lead.

Although Chris Wood could have reduced the deficit for New Zealand in the end, his shot was off target, and Peru celebrated a 2-0 victory.

Thanks to this win, the South American representatives have qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1982. They also slightly scrambled things up for the national teams of Denmark and Serbia, as they now occupy the 10th spot in the FIFA rankings. Due to Peru's victory in the playoff, the Danes are now in the third pot, and the Serbians are in the fourth pot.

Result:

Peru 2 - 0 New Zealand

[1-0] 28' Jefferson Farfan

[2-0] 65' Christian Guillermo Ramos
