On Thursday evening, in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16, "Barcelona" played a 2-2 draw with "Manchester United" at home.
In the first half, both teams had opportunities to score, and although "The Red Devils" created slightly more chances, the players went into halftime with the scoreboard showing zeros.
The first goal of the match came in the 50th minute. After a corner kick from Raphinha, Marcos Alonso scored with a header.
However, "United" forward Marcus Rashford turned the game around in a matter of minutes. In the 53rd minute, the Englishman finished his brilliant run with a goal from a sharp angle, and just 6 minutes later, he completed another fine run after which Jules Kounde sent the ball into his own net.
There was much discussion about two referee decisions in the middle of the second half. Marcus Rashford embarked on a dangerous attack and fell to the ground after contact with "Barcelona" defender Jules Kounde, but the referee did not see any foul. In the following moment, the Catalan team went on the attack, earning a dangerous free kick. At that moment, the entire visiting camp was very unhappy, resulting in yellow cards being shown to Casemiro and coach Erik ten Hag.
In the 76th minute, "Barca" managed to equalize the score once again in the match. Raphinha directed the ball towards the English team's goal.
The second leg of the Round of 16 will take place in Manchester on February 23.
