On Saturday, four matches of the 10th round of the Dutch "Eredivisie" championship were played. The underdog "Den Haag" club clinched their first victory, newcomer "Excelsior" played a 2-2 draw with "Vitesse", while the leaders "Ajax" and "PSV" easily defeated "Heerenveen" and "RKC" respectively.

The championship leader, Amsterdam's "Ajax", met with the players of "Heerenveen" as guests. The first goal came in the 17th minute, when "Ajax" midfielder Tomas De Mul beat "Heerenveen" goalkeeper Brian Vandennbussche. At the end of the match, a convincing victory was secured for the Amsterdam club by a precise penalty shot from Wesley Sneijder in the 76th minute.

After this victory, "Ajax" continues to hold the top spot, while "Heerenveen" maintains their position in the middle of the table.

The defending champions Eindhoven's "PSV", who had achieved a stunning victory against "Sparta" earlier in the week, once again easily overcame Valvijko's "RKC" resistance as guests.

The biggest sensation was recorded in The Hague, where the local team "Den Haag" battled against the struggling Almelo "Heracles". The guests faced trouble when "Heracles" forward Ramos Everton was immediately sent off for rough play. Seizing the numerical advantage, the visitors took the lead in the 57th minute through Santi Kolk. At the end of the match, Eljero Elia defeated "Heracles" goalkeeper Martin Pieckenhagen for the second time and sealed the victory in these matches.

For the players of "Den Haag", this was their first victory in this year's Dutch championship, and now the club remains second to last with 4 points, but is distancing themselves from the closest pursuers, the absolute underdog club "Sparta". "Heracles" drops to 12th place after a great start to the season.

The most goals were seen in the city of Excelsior, where newcomer "Excelsior" clashed with "Vitesse" from Arnhem. The goal had to wait almost the entire first half. The visitors' Anduele Prijor scored in the 29th minute, and six minutes later his teammate Danko Lazovic doubled their lead.

However, after seven minutes, "Vitesse" were reduced to 10 men when the author of the second goal, D. Lazovic, was sent off. "Excelsior" didn't miss this opportunity and in the second half, in the 61st minute, a penalty was awarded against "Vitesse" goalkeeper Haraldo Wapennar, converted by Luigi Bruins. It seemed that despite playing with a disadvantage, the visitors wouldn't let victory slip away, but everything was shattered by an equalizing goal scored by Johan Voskamp during additional time.

After these productive draws, "Excelsior" remains in 11th place, while "Vitesse" also holds on to the 14th position.
