During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the first match of the Spanish Super Cup tournament took place at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium in Madrid between the country's champions Madrid "Atletico" and the "Copa del Rey" winners Madrid "Real".
Right from the start of the match, as expected, Carlo Ancelotti's team took on the role of favorites and played more actively on the opponent's field.
Diego Simeone's team had to choose a counterattacking tactic. Within the ranks of "Atletico" actively played Mario Mandžukič, who arrived at the team in the summer.
In the first half, neither team managed to score, just like most of the second half.
The goals came at the end of the match. In the 81st minute, after an unsuccessful attempt by Karim Benzema to shoot from close range, the ball rebounded directly to James Rodriguez, whose shot ricocheted for the first goal.
Maintaining this lead until the final whistle of the referee was unsuccessful - in the 87th minute after a corner, the result became equal. Raul Garcia was in the right place and time to tap in.
The second Spanish Super Cup match will be played on Friday, August 22. The action will move to the "Vicente Calderon" stadium.
