Torres began his career at Atlético Madrid and through their youth system made it to the first team. He debuted with the team in 2001, ending his time with the club having scored 75 goals in 174 La Liga matches. In 2007, he moved to the Premier League club Liverpool.
6. Sylvain Distin - $26 million - Played as a fullback for Portsmouth and in England
Sylvain Distin is a French footballer, a defender for the Premier League club Everton. He previously played for clubs in France, Croatia, England, and Scotland.
Distin started his career at Paris Saint-Germain in 1994, but did not break into the first team. In 1996, he moved to Toulouse and played over 100 matches for the club. Distin joined Newcastle United on a free transfer in July 2004 after rejecting a new contract from Toulouse. He was released by Newcastle United.
