After a year-long break, defender Felipe Brisola from Brazil returns to the football field. This season, the experienced football player will join Kaunas district FC "Hegelmann" and help the club to achieve its goals.
The 33-year-old player was the undisputed leader of Vilnius' "Riteriai" in the 2022-2023 seasons, but had to stop his career last year due to a serious injury.
"It was not easy to part with football when you receive such an injury, you have to work very hard to come back to the field. I worked hard, I am a professional, I know what needs to be done, I consulted doctors, physiotherapists, who helped me to stand back up and get ready to step back on the football field," - the newcomer in blue and white remembered the year without football.
Previously, the Brazilian shone for three seasons in the "Riga FC" club, with which he won the Latvian championship for three consecutive years.
Starting his professional career in 2011, F. Brisola represented native Brazilian clubs for five years until he was noticed by the Bulgarian club "Botev" in Plovdiv. After playing for two years in Bulgaria, the newcomer in blue and white moved to the "Riga FC" club, where he played 102 matches in three and a half years, scored 18 goals, and made 11 assists.
"I am very happy to be able to return to the football field again, I hope that in this team I can enjoy football again. I am eagerly looking forward to the first matches when I can feel the adrenaline again. I am happy to have found a good club with good players and an excellent coaching staff," - said F. Brisola.
"This season, the 'Hegelmann' team has many players who have a fighting spirit, move well on the field, and are tactically well prepared. It feels like there are no players in the team who would be lazy to do their job, everyone helps each other," said F. Brisola.
"I see which players in the team are leaders with the ball and stand out with their individual abilities, and those who lead the team more in the locker room. I came here to become one of the leaders and help the team, especially the young players, and I will prove it with my actions on the field and as a good example," - said the newcomer to FC "Hegelmann".
