For over 10 years Christian Streich has led the "Freiburg" team and has received a well-deserved award. It was announced that the 57-year-old coach was chosen as Germany's Coach of the Year. In the voting, C. Streich surpassed coaches such as Oliver Glasner ("Eintracht"), Steffen Baumgart ("Koln"), and Urs Fischer (Berlin's "Union"). Last season was historic for C. Streich with "Freiburg" - reaching the final of the German Cup and securing a spot in the Europa League. Germany's Player of the Year became Lea Schuller, who outperformed Europe's top goal scorer Alexandra Popp. Today the German will face England in the final.
