The French national team ended their battles in Group D of the European Championship with a painful defeat.

On Tuesday, Laurent Blanc's players lost 0-2 to Sweden in Kiev, which had already lost hope of continuing to fight.

In Group D, the French remained second and will face the world and European champions Spain in the quarterfinals.

The first warning call for "Les Bleus" came at the beginning of the second half, when the Swede Zlatan Ibrahimović scored the first goal with a great shot.

The French team tried to come back, but at the end of the match, S. Larsson put an end to their hopes.

Blanco's team managed to control the ball for a longer period (57%), had more corner kicks and shots on goal, but it still didn't help them avoid failure.
