The French Football Federation has decided to take a stricter look at Muslim players who recognize their faith.

As reported by journalist Julien Laurienas, the country's federation has banned athletes from fasting during the ongoing Ramadan period.

However, not all football players followed this requirement.

One of them is "Lyon" defender Mahamadou Diawara.

The promising player had to withdraw from the French U-19 team because he refused to break his fast for eight days.
