24-year-old Italian national team midfielder Marco Verratti denies reports that he is determined to leave Paris Saint-Germain club, but assured that his future in the team will depend on the work of the sports director in the transfer window.
Lately, there have been ongoing rumors in the media that M. Verratti wants to leave PSG. It is said that the Italian has agreed on contract terms with Barcelona, but PSG categorically refuses to sell the midfielder to the Catalans and demands more than 100 million for him.
However, M. Verratti does not talk about any agreements with other teams and emphasizes that he will gladly stay in Paris if more top-class footballers join the team.
"It is definitely not the case that I want to leave at any cost. I want to wait and see what team they will build. If there are transfers, I will be happy to stay in this team," M. Verratti told "Gazzetta dello Sport."
"Every year they (PSG owner and management) say they will assemble a great team, but the results speak for themselves. Promises are not enough.
If PSG's sports director keeps his word now, and so far he does, it will be a pleasure for me to continue working in this club. At the end of the day, no one would force me to leave PSG," added one of the best central midfielders in the world.
