Markus Weinzierlas, who as expected will be appointed as the head coach of "Schalke" in Gelsenkirchen, says that inspiration can be drawn from the "Premier League" champion "Leicester City."
The strategist training "Augsburg" since 2012 should soon be announced as Andre Breitenreiter's successor.
Finishing in 12th place this season in the "Bundesliga" with his team, the 41-year-old specialist hopes to repeat the "Foxes" journey, who barely stayed in the top division in England last season.
"Leicester" gives hope that incredible things can be achieved even when underestimated," Weinzierlas told Bild.
"Bundesliga" has many examples, although their success was not that great. These are small clubs like "Augsburg" and "Darmstadt." They instill confidence.
"Leicester" is a great example for both "Schalke" and other teams.
However, although Weinzierlas had already announced that he would leave "Augsburg," the club itself did not agree to confirm it.
