The news of the loss of a legend shocked German football.

On Monday, it was announced that 78-year-old Franz "Kaiser" Beckenbauer passed away.

He took his first steps as a footballer at the Munich "Bayern" club, where he spent 13 seasons.

Later, F. Beckenbauer played for several years in the teams of "New York Cosmos" and "Hamburger SV".

In the West Germany national team, he played in more than 100 matches and scored 14 goals. Throughout his career, F. Beckenbauer won the "Golden Ball" twice, becoming a world and European champion once.

After ending his professional career, he successfully coached his country's national team (becoming a world champion in 1990), "Marseille", and "Bayern" clubs. Later, he held managerial positions in the team of multiple Bundesliga champions.
