Yesterday's World Cup qualifier match between the national teams of Ireland and Portugal (0:0) in Dublin became particularly memorable for 11-year-old Addison Whelan. After the match, the girl jumped over two security barriers and ran towards her idol Cristiano Ronaldo. The 36-year-old forward stopped the security guards chasing A. Whelan and gave her his gloves. However, this gesture was not very pleasant for the girl's father - it was announced that the man would have to pay a fine of up to 3,000 euros. "I received the fine because I ran onto the field, but my father will pay it," said the girl. However, the press wrote that the father "would be extremely happy if someone else could take on this financial burden."
