In October, it was announced that the current owners of Liverpool, Fenway Sports Group, are looking for ways to sell the club. Now a similar scenario has happened with the Manchester United club.
The Athletic reported that the Glazers have instructed banks to handle the sale of Manchester United.
The club itself officially commented on this.
The official statement announces that the club's board of directors has begun the process of evaluating new strategic alternatives for the club.

"We will evaluate all possibilities to ensure that we best represent the fans and that Manchester United has all growth opportunities both today and in the future," - response from Avram and Joel Glazer in the official statement.
Chris Wheeler from Daily Mail reports that the Glazers will consider offers seeking at least £5 billion. However, the main goal is to get £9 billion from the sale of the club.
Joel and Avram Glazer have managed the Manchester United club since 2005. Over the past 17 years, the Manchester club has won all possible trophies, but in recent years, the club's fans have been dissatisfied because the owners do not invest their own money in the club's success.
On Tuesday, Manchester United officially terminated the contract with Cristiano Ronaldo.
