The English club did not get too upset about the final result and managed to make fun of themselves on Twitter, celebrating after many missed goals that they earned a corner kick.
After the match, the team representatives stated that goalkeeper Steve Piggott, who let in 22 goals, did not make any careless moves.
"Our main goalkeeper was in goal and I couldn't say that he made mistakes. In fact, he saved the team from even greater humiliation," said the club representative Stuart Crawford.
At halftime, the Russians were leading 9:0 and, despite replacing most of the players, managed to score another 13 goals in the second half.
Representatives of the English team admitted that they felt relieved when the Russians canceled the planned friendly match.
